Achieving Excellence in Biorisk Management and Biosecurity; A Milestone Achievement

Our Esteemed Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar Uz Zaman, has presented Dr. Aayesha Riaz with three prestigious certifications from the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA) in Biorisk Management, Biosecurity, and Biological Waste Management. Respected Registrar Sir Aqeel Sultan, Prof. Dr. Khalid Saifullah, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Hussain Baber and others also appreciated her efforts.


This recognition highlights Dr. Aayesha Riaz expertise and commitment to ensuring the safe and secure handling of biological materials.


Dr. Aayesha Riaz is among the few who have attained certification in these critical areas, with only 50 professionals achieving certification in Pakistan in Biosecurity and Biological Waste Management What adds significance to this achievement is that Dr. Aayesha Riaz is the sole individual at the PMAS-Arid Agriculture university Rawalpindi to hold these Professional certifications. This recognition not only highlights her dedication to professional development but also enhances her institution reputation for excellence in biosafety and biosecurity.


The IFBA certification program is renowned globally for its rigorous standards, adhering to the guidelines outlined in ISO/IEC 17024:2012. This ensures that certified individuals possess the requisite competencies to mitigate biosafety and biosecurity risks.


These certifications demonstrate capability of a person to handle biological materials safely and securely, contributing to the reduction of biosafety and biosecurity risks.
