PMAS-AAUR DISPATCHED RELIEF GOODS TO JHANG



The students, faculty and administration of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) have always worked tirelessly to serve their countrymen and at this crucial time when a catastrophe has hit our motherland, we are once again standing united to help our brothers in dealing with the after affects of this devastating flood.

 

These views were expressed by the PMAS-AAUR, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, on the occasion of departure of the convoy of food items and truck of Mineral Water, Mehr Water University own product to flood affected areas of Athara Hazari, Jhang, here on Friday.

 

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad said that today Pakistani nation is passing through one of its greatest ordeals. Many people, devastated by the violent waves of the flood are crying for help. Their relief and rehabilitation the dire national, religious and human need of the day. He further said that it is youth who has a potential to rebuilt Pakistan and all of us must join hands to bring back smiles to the tear laden and woebegone faces.

 

The Vice Chancellor also constituted the PMAS-AAUR Flood Relief Cell to collect and raise funds for flood victims and to approach donor agencies. He also visited the Flood Relief Cell located at University campus and informed that university is also going to set a camp in flood affected area of Athara Hazari, Jhang. He said that University will send food and other necessary relief items to flood affected areas including its product of Mineral Water Plant.

 

Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad also informed the gathering that University has already sent its team comprising doctor of Veterinary Medicine teachers and students to the flood-hit areas of Sialkot and Rawalpindi Divisions. This team will treat and vaccinate the livestock affected by floods.

 

The Vice Chancellor urged the philanthropists to come forward to help the people of flood affected areas. He nominated Prof. Dr. Muhammad Azim Malik, as focal person for the PMAS-AAUR Flood Relief Cell to collect and raise funds for flood victims and approached donor agencies. People can contact him on his phone numb 051-9290050.
