A five-day (March 2, 2015 to March 6, 2015) indigenous on-campus training (IOT) workshop for administrative/non-teaching staff commenced at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) on March 2, 2015.
The workshop titled “ICT for Office Management and Computer Applications” is organized by Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), PMAS-AAUR in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission under Modern University Governance Program, with an aim to enhance the professional capacity/skill of the University’s employees, and to promote good governance on campus.
Chairing the inaugural session, PMAS-AAUR, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad said that this is first time that PMAS-AAUR Is organizing training for non teaching staff and it is the need of time to equip the staff with skills to enrich their knowledge with latest trends and technologies. He hoped that this training will be beneficial for the better governance and development of University. He appreciated the efforts of Higher Education Commission for providing the training opportunities to the staff of University. He congratulated all the participants and advised them to deliver best services to students. He said such training activities are the key component of professional grooming. As a result of this training, not only the capacity and efficiency of the university employees will improve but it will help in promoting good governance on campus, he added.
Dr. Mobushir Riaz Khan, Mr. Nadeem Ahmad Malik, Mr. Mustafa, Mr. Shahzad Ashraf, Mr. Majid Tahir, Ms. Zahida Shaheen, Mr. Asad, Mr. Hameed Ullah Khan and Mr. Farrukh Hanif are the Resource Persons of the ongoing workshop.
During the five-day long workshop, the participants were trained on various aspects of improving communication and presentation skills. Lectures were delivered on the topics includes: ICT for Office Management, Computer Software Application, Network Equipments and its Usage, Introduction to Database, Installation of CMS, Web Application , Introduction to internet (with practical), Smart usage of PC Computer Security and how to make presentation, and Office 365.
