Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) and University of Agriculture Faislabad (UAF) should enhance cooperation in the field of research to find solutions for problems faced by farmer community of Pakistan.
This was stated by Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR and Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, Vice Chancellor UAF in a meeting held at PMAS-AAUR, here on Friday February 01, 2013.
They highlighted the significance of close collaboration among the universities and said it will not only help them to resolve common issues but also enhance the mutual understanding. They were of the view that it will also create linkages with organizations for the development of faculty and promotion of academic and research activities.
Both Vice Chancellors also agreed to organize seminars and workshops, funding of research activities including internships, faculty and students exchange, research programs. Furthermore, both the organizations will promote research activities by enhancing collaborative efforts.
Both organization will soon sign an MoU in this regard which will be helpful to develop, expand, enhance and manage the Universities’ research programmes and to link research activities directly to the educational, social and economic priorities of the Universities and its broader community. MoU will also be helpful for assuring the quality of research and improve the stature of the Universities among the world’s best research institutions.
