Three-day inter-faculty girls Badminton Championship, organized by the Directorate of Sports concluded at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) gymnasium, here on Wednesday.

PMAS-AAUR, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad was the chief guest at the final match and in the championship over 30 students participated in women’s singles, and doubles category. Eight teams of different faculties/Directorates including Basic Sciences, Managements Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Information Technology, Economics, Forestry and Education.

In women’s singles final, management sciences team defeated agriculture faculty team by 21-19, 21-16 while in women’s doubles; Management team beat agriculture faculty team by 21-17, 19-21, 21-18.

Speaking on the occasion, the university vice-chancellor, Dr Rai Niaz appreciated the efforts of organizers. He said that these activities help in grooming physical, intellectual and social attributes among the students and hoped that such kind of event will be organized in future as well. At the end, he distributed prizes and certificates among the winners.
