Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) and Kastamonu University, Turkey inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on November 4, 2015 to have a close academic collaboration, mutual Exchange in Educational, Research areas covering various Disciplines and Mevlana  Exchange Program Protocol.

The MOU was signed by the PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad and Prof. Dr. Seyit AYDIN represented as Rector of Kastamonu University, Turkey on behalf of their respective institutes.

Under the MoU, both universities were declared as sister universities and decided to work together in various programs like Forestry, Management Sciences, Irrigation studies, Environmental Studies and Biological sciences. Both institutes would also work for research, exchange of faculty, students, joint development of research projects, exchange of information & educational resources and publications.

Earlier, PMAS-AAUR, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad gave a detailed presentation on new initiatives of PMAS-Arid Agriculture University and expressed his gratitude for this visit by the delegation of Kastamonu Univeristy Turkey. Speaking on the ocassion, Vice Chancellor said that collaboration between two universities will provide an opportunity to assist each other in the field of academics, research and learning which ultimately leads towards economic and social betterment.

Prof. Dr. Sayit AYDIN expressed his deep appreciation for the excellent work of Arid University and concluded that we are brother countries and brother nations and we will continue working on this collaboration for the betterment of our students and teachers and both of the universities will get benefit from this joint program.  Prof. Dr. Omer Kucuk (Coordinator Mevlana Exchange Program Turkey) described the details about the Program for students and Teachers Exposure and training.
