A workshop on scientific writing was held on January 20, 2016 at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) with an aim to equip researchers and scientists with contemporary techniques of research writing.

The workshop was organized by Department Sociology in collaboration with University of California Davis USA under Agriculture Innovation Program Pakistan. Around 40 participants attended the workshop including PMAS-AAUR faculty members, Ph.D scholars and M phil students.

Dr. Mark Bell from University of California, in his lecture highlighted the main formats of research writing and the common problems faced by researchers in their respective areas. He expertly engaged the class by small exercises, workshop activities and constant interaction.

Dr Aneela Afzal organized the workshop under the auspices of Prof. Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, PMAS-AAUR. In her introductory session, she underscored the importance of research writing for world class scientific ventures. The workshop ended with an interactive question and answer session.
