The 44th meeting of the Academic Council of Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University was held on March 6, 2013 in the University Seminar room. Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, PMAS-AAUR presided over the meeting.
During the meeting, the Academic Council approved establishment of new Faculty of Agricultural Engineering. Beside, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for plagiarism cases received by HEC was adopted. New members for Finance & Planning and different Committees were nominated. On the direction of the Governor of Punjab/ Chancellor of the University, free education and hostel facilities for special/disabled persons was also approved. The meeting also endorsed the minutes of last 43rd meeting of the Academic Council.
Earlier, the members welcomed the Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad on assuming the charge of the Vice Chancellor and assured him full support in elevating the academic standards of the University. Prof. Dr. Rai Niaz Ahmad thanked the members and said that he would do his best in order to promote academic excellence and development in the University.
Senior faculty members, teaching heads, Librarian, Registrar, and Deans of Faculties, Director of institutes and Controller Examinations attended the meeting.
At the end, Vice-Chancellor thanked all the members for their participation & valuable contribution made by them in the meeting.
