Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) has been ranked 4thout of 68 Pakistani Universities and 220 among 1183 participating Universities of the world as per latest UI Green Metric World Universities ranking 2023. UI GreenMetric University Sustainability Ranking is a world university ranking to assess and compare campus sustainability efforts. The criteria for the ranking of Universities includes campus setting & infrastructure, energy & climate change, waste, water, transportation and education& Research. The Arid Varsity has been ranked as 220 among the top 1183 universities of the world with the total score of 7675 as per UI Green Metric World Universities ranking.

PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor, Dr. Muhammad Naeem emphasized the importance of the University Green Offices role in sensitizing students about environmental protection. He appreciated the Dr. Shahid Ali Khan the director of the University Green Office and his team for their efforts in implementing various initiatives such as tree plantation campaigns, establishing nurseries and creating the Green Youth Movement Club at the University.
