Participation in the 42nd Pakistan Congress of Zoology, AJ& K, Muzaffarabad
The Zoological Society of Pakistan held its 42nd congress from 23rd to 25th April, 2024. The
congress was hosted and organized by Azad Jammu and Kashmir University, Muzaffarabad. A
faculty member, Dr. Muhammad Rais, Assistant Professor, and 26 students from the department
of Zoology, Wildlife and Fisheries, PMAS-AAUR, attended the event. Two students of the
department who have recently completed their MPhil won prizes in the poster presentation
session. Mr. Arslan Ibrahim presented a poster from his research titled “Identification and
characterization of multidrug resistant E. Coli, Salmonella and Staphylococcus isolated from
backyard poultry of District Khushab, Rawalpindi and Islamabad’ which secured 2nd position.
Miss Muzna Kashaf’s presented a poster from her research titled “Examination of connectivity
among amphibian habitats (forested freshwater stream) of Murree Tehsil, Rawalpindi, Pakistan’
which secured 3rd position. The student were awarded with the certificate, shield and cash prizes.
