Anti-Dengue Seminar

A Seminar on Anti-Dengue was held at PirMehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) on May 31, 2024 to raise awareness about the dengue and its prevention from this disease.


Member National Assembly Engineer Qamarul Islam Raja was the chief guest while PMAS-AAUR, Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem, Member National Assembly Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry, Member Punjab Assembly Shazia Rizwan Chaudhry, Dr. Ehsan Ghani, Dr. Tariq Mukhtar from PMAS-AAUR was also present on the occasion.


The seminar was organized by the Department of Entomology, PMAS-AAUR and was attended by all academic heads, faculty members, staff and students of the university.


Engineer Qamarul Islam Raja said that the people should cooperate with the government institutions for the prevention of dengue and follow the guidance of experts to get rid of dengue completely.


He appreciated PMAS-AAUR efforts to get rid of dengue and the establishment of the National Entomological Reference Laboratory Networking at the campus. He informed the gathering that PMAS-AAUR trained experts from countries including Afghanistan, Indonesia and Bangladesh to control mosquitoes.


Earlier, the Vice Chancellor of PMAS-AAUR Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naeem welcomed the guests and said that we should keep our homes and environment clean and do not allow standing water to become safe havens for dengue mosquitoes.


Member National Assembly Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry, Member Punjab Assembly Shazia Rizwan Chaudhry Dr. Ehsan Ghani, Dr. Tariq Mukhtar from PMAS-AAUR also addressed the participants.


Dr. Tariq Mahmood from PMAS-AAUR also gave a detailed briefing about the precautionary measures to control mosquitoes.
