PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Hosts One-Day Hands-on Workshop on "Mastering EndNote"



Rawalpindi, December 18, 2025 — The Department of Agronomy, in collaboration with the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, successfully organized a One-Day Hands-on Training Workshop on “Mastering EndNote”, aimed at enhancing research management and academic writing skills among faculty members, researchers, and postgraduate students.


The workshop began with an inaugural session chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, T.I. (COMSATS University Islamabad), UNESCO Chair on Knowledge Systems for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), along with Dr. Tanveer Iqbal from the Institute of Soil & Environmental Sciences, PMAS-AAUR. The session highlighted the growing importance of digital research tools and collaborative approaches in modern academia. Welcome remarks emphasized the university’s commitment to capacity building and research excellence.


As Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, T.I. delivered a thought-provoking address on the future of education and the vital role of national and international research collaboration, underscoring how effective knowledge systems and interdisciplinary partnerships can address complex global challenges. His talk inspired participants to embrace innovation, ethical collaboration, and global engagement in their research endeavors.


The technical and hands-on sessions were conducted by Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, who provided in-depth training on EndNote installation, library creation, importing references from online databases, organizing and managing PDFs, identifying duplicates, creating custom groups, and using the “Cite While You Write (CWYW)” feature for accurate citation and bibliography generation across multiple journal styles. The interactive nature of the training enabled participants to directly apply these tools to their theses, dissertations, and research manuscripts


The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion and feedback session, followed by refreshments. Participants highly appreciated the practical orientation of the training and noted its relevance for improving research efficiency, publication quality, and collaborative writing. The organizers reaffirmed their resolve to continue organizing such professional development activities to strengthen research culture, academic integrity, and global visibility of scholarly output at PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi.
