The 81st meeting of the Academic Council of Arid Agriculture University was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman. The meeting was attended by Registrar Muhammad Aqeel Sultan, Deans of various faculties, Directors of institutes, Professors, and Associate Professors.
The Academic Council approved the minutes of the 80th Academic Council meeting and reviewed various academic matters. During the meeting, several new degree programs were approved. These programs have been designed in accordance with the emerging needs of industry and are specifically focused on skill-based education. The objective of these programs is to equip students not only with employment opportunities but also with entrepreneurial capabilities, enabling them to become job creators rather than job seekers.
The Academic Council also authorized all faculties to develop and incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) course content into their respective degree programs. The Council emphasized that AI education should become an integral part of every academic program to prepare students for the rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Addressing the meeting, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman advised all Deans and Directors to facilitate students within the framework of academic regulations and further strengthen skill-based education and research activities. He emphasized the importance of enhancing students' practical competencies, innovation, and research capabilities to meet national and international challenges.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to continuously improve academic standards, modernize curricula, and promote excellence in teaching, research, and innovation at the university.
